Day 9 - 19 Dec 2019
Strictly speaking, today, we spent the morning in Brussels, afternoon travelling from Belgium to London, and then the evening in London (of course!).
After breakfast in the hotel room, thanks to wife who bought them from the nearby train station, we set off to Belgian Comic Strip Center (Comics Art Museum). It was an interesting museum that showcases the creators of the comic art (and some of their works). There were also an area where kids can play puzzles. The only thing was some of the comic strips were in either Dutch or French and while one European lady laughed while looking at one of the exhibits, I could only admire its drawings without appreciating its humour.
For lunch, we tried Five Guys. Literally speaking, the five guys in J, S, Le, Yu and yours truly tried Five Guys with Emma. Its burger tasted awesome and its milkshake was just heavenly. An interesting thing to note was that at the beginning of the queue, customers could actually help themselves with peanuts that are complimentary. Well, they could eat them while queuing or offer them to their friends who might be waiting at the tables.
We went back to the hotel to pick up our luggages and set off for London via Eurostar. It was about an hour plus ride. It was a pretty comfortable ride. Most of us took the opportunity to take a short nap.
We ordered a car and reached Citadines South Kensington, our apartment for the next four nights. After getting out the necessary stuff from the luggages, we went for dinner at Wright Brothers South Kensington. I had fish pie which was served hot and it tasted pretty good. We shared a bottle of white wine too.
After dinner, we went to the supermarket to get some bottles of water, some fruits and breakfast for the next day. Then, we walked back to the hotel and rested for the night.
