So left Phuket on Friday and arrived in Koh Phi Phi, a very beautiful island. I went and checked into my hostel which was really VERY basic! I got shown my room and left there with a towel and a loo roll. So I quickly left there and went to meet my parents for lunch at an Italian restaurant ironically. We sat and ate just as it decided to pour down! So we stayed and had a few drinks while the rain carried on coming. Eventually it all stopped and we went to have a look around all the little shops and to see the beach, which was unspectacular. So after a day of wondering around we went back to my parents hotel and I decided to stay with them instead of going back up the hill in the dark to my not very nice room!
On day 2 me and Dad went diving. It was a much nicer day no rain and very warm. We were the only 2 people diving with the instructor and so we got 2 pretty long dives in. We saw loads of lionfish and a few scorpion fish which are pretty cool. A whole bunch of eels too. They seem to be pretty common here I guess. Anyway that was a good day.
My last day in Koh Phi Phi we went on a long tail boat around the islands. We went to Monkey Beach and saw all the monkeys. They were used to all te tourists feeding them and were very friendly coming right up to us. Very cute baby monkeys too!! We also went to a few snorkelling spots which weren't very good snorkelling to be honest, I think I've been spoilt by the Caribbean! And finally we went to Maya Bay where they filmed 'The Beach'. Not a very nice beach any more. Absolutely packed with tourists on trips like ours and there is so much rubbish on the beach and in the sea and we're here at low season so it must be even worse later in the year! A shame as it was such a lovely beach!
Anyway I left Koh Phi Phi that day and headed over to Krabi where I am now. This is my first stop on my own so I am off to do sone exploring!
