Today we went elephant trekking and we had a really good time! As we pulled up at the centre we were greeted my 2 dogs 'making babies' as it were haha! But the day did improve from there! We trekked into some foresty type place and I got to ride on the elephants neck for a long time which was really cool! And got lots of pictures which I will upload to Facebook ASAP!
We also got to feed and pet the baby elephants that were so cute but it was kinda sad coz they were chained up and couldn't move very far... But the older elephants were treated very well and only did 5 short rides each day before being bathed. Each had it's own carer. My elephant was called Choli and mum and dad's elephant was Rambo! Haha!
After the elephant ride we watched a monkey show and the monkeys were so cute! They showed us how they had trained them to climb up the trees and pick coconuts for them and then they chose my dad to sit and have his hands tied together so that a monkey could untie them an sit on his lap! I think we were all a bit worried that the monkey might choose to have a wee on him but he waited until later while he was playing basket ball to do that (the monkey not my dad!). They were very cute and one monkey even sold us some 'monkey balm' (a version of tiger balm that they sell everywhere here).
Anyway it was a really cool morning! Loving the elephants and monkeys over here... Now I just need to learn how to say 'there is a monkey in the tree' in Thai!
And a special mention to Tom Lowe today...my 'significant other', as he was jealous of Clare's special mention yesterday! Xxx
