Alright, let me first apologize for taking so long on blogging. We used to blog every time we moved, but since we have been here its a little different.
So since the last blog, I still work at Kono's restaurant in Haleiwa and Ashleigh has done a few condo cleanings before finding a job that allows her to be able to give back to the community. She found an ad on Craigslist for some one to help transport a lady to the hospital four days a week. It has been amazing to see how God continues to provide for us. Not only in the job situation where we are both happy with what we are doing, but we are more plugged in to a body of christian fellowship here than we were at home. It is truly awesome to see how He works. We have some friends in town (Honolulu, about an hour drive) that we have a couples bible study with and hang out with on the weekends.
The album that we just posted, is of a hike that Shep took us on near town. It was so much fun, that we had to go back and bring our friends Kelly and Matt with us. Kelly is our roomates Katie's sister that was visiting for a few days. The hike starts at a small little waterfall where there is a rope swing, rock slide, and rocks to dive off of as well. So I pretty much wanted to live there. After you leave that area, there are a few trails to take (which we quickly disregarded of course) to head up the mountain side.
I was completely shocked in Ashleigh's hiking ability. The first time we went, she did the whole thing barefoot and it wasn't an easy climb either. We were blazing our own trail the whole way. There was a small downfall on our first hike. While I was getting some video footage of our hike, I slipped and tried to save the camera while I slid down a muddy hill. I dragged my left hand down the hill and lost my wedding ring somewhere along the way. Its Ok though, Ashleigh got me another one and was honestly surprised that the original lasted as long as it did.
At the end of the hike, Shep and I found a huge Banyan tree that had a branch extended over the creek with roots hanging down. Of course we had to try to swing from one root to the other to try to get across. We were unsuccessful, but on our next trip back I was able to get across. (check the videos)
All in all, it is an amazing place to get lost in nature.
We will try to keep blogging more often. We will be putting up a few more albums of us with our friends from the couples bible study. We love hearing from you, so please send us some messages or comments on the photos and stuff. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.
His children,
C&A
