Hi Guys,

Thought I would let you know that I am safe and well after my stint in the Amazon, it was really amazing. We arrived in a small town called Coco from a 10hr night bus journey from Quito. We went to the hostel oasis and was met by a family travelling on there boat to the resort we were staying in. We got a boat up the Napo River. Jenny if you look close you can see your soil horizons.

We finally arrived after an hour to our destination, in which we were met by a monkey, and then shown to our rooms before having lunch and our first exploration of the jungle. We went on small boats to an opening and walked right into the forest, we saw so many animals including poisonous frogs, tapirs, caiman, a bit like small crocs, working ants and torantulas. The guys held a torantula but I chickened out and stayed behind the camera, although I did eat lemon ants which was really wierd. We did a night walk into the forest and went to look for birds at dawn as well. We then went to an indigenous family to see there house and try their food and activities.

This was really cool, and I have just booked our next weekend away to see Whales, I cant wait. Anyway, have to go as need to be back for dinner. Will write and explain more about it soon.
