Iquique- Paragliding capital of the world
Conditions at this Chilean coastal city are ideal for first time paragliders. A short run off a cliff and you are gently flying high over the rooftops with magnificent views of the ocean in front. Throw in a couple of 'manoeuvres' - sharp, quick downwards spiral towards the beach landing and you've got yourself the perfect mix of thrill and relaxing sightseeing.
The house wins again.
Tom (Californian surfer friend) introduced us to the casino game of craps in the Iquique casino. We retire drunk and with empty pockets. We have discovered that, at least while we are travelling, our place is with the grey old ladies on the penny slot machines, rather than the $5us per hand high rollers at the poker tables.
