For our last day in London, Jim and I split up for the day. He had a business appointment and some research to do, whereas I wanted to do some more touristy things. The Tube is on strike, with only limited service, so I did a lot of walking. Went past Big Ben more than once (see pic). I visited the Cabinet War Rooms, which display the rooms from which the Brits conducted WW2, as they were at the time. Also a museum dedicated to Winston Churchill's life. Then I walked to Buckingham palace (no I didn't see the Queen) and visited the Queen's Gallery (various art collected by the Royal Family). A double decker bus ride took me back to the Imperial War Museum and I ended up spending more time there than I intended to, but I found the Holocaust exhibit quite interesting. Took the river cruise again to the Tower of London. Wanted to take in the London Bridge Exhibition there but it was too late. It was mostly a nice sunny day and it went by really fast. Met up with Jim at 6:30 and, at his suggestion, went to an East Indian restaurant. I thought it was OK, but he said the food at the one in Mill Woods is better! We looked into transportation options for getting to Heathrow tomorrow and it looks like a cab will be best. Have to get up at 4:00 for our 7:00 am flight to Kiev.
