Well I am on tour at the moment - Lets start from the beginning!
We went from Paraty to Sao paulo and then an overnight bus to Foz De Igazu. Its took ages however we were on a sleeper bus which was like being in a bed. We watched gone in 60 seconds and pirates of the Caribbean 2 on the bus becuase our tour leader flirted with the driver - I felt a bit sorry for the Brazillians on the bus that had to watch DVDs in English!!!
We had lunch at the supermarket near the hotel - you pay by the kilo, so thats kind of cheap and cheerful - I had chips and Gerkins for 2 days running! The day we arrived we went to paraguay to do some shopping however this turned out to be similar to Bolivia and the quality of anything they were selling was not good - Fake trainers, shoes, bags - you name it they can fake it!
We went to Argentina and saw the Argentinian side of the falls which was really good - We had a boat ride and I felt like James Bond going ove the rapids! We got drenched but it was really good fun. That evening we went out for a meal with some of the group and ordered far too much! Next day we went to the falls on the Brazillian side which was slightly boring as we had had quite enough of waterfalls really! The view was still amazing though. That night we went to a show and saw all of the dances from around South America (mist of which we have seen already). The pan pipes came on and me and Kerry nearly had to leave - I hate pan pipes!!!!! It was really good although I am sure some the female dancers were actually lady boys! After that we decided to go clubbing. We turned up at the only night club in town, they had a theme night on and although I could not translate what the theme was I can tell you it resembled to Wizard of OZ! Every bloke had scare crow outfits and the women looked cross between Dorothy and the scarecrow. It was quite funny however very expensive!!
We then travelled on 3 different night buses to Bonito - Bonito meaning Beautiful in Portugese. Yesterday instead of taking it easy we went on a 20 mile (32 km) bike ride around the area. It was very nice although my backside hurts from the seat! We came back and watched the football - Brazil won the Copa America which was nice and they all cheered and let fire crackers off in the streets.
I have mosquito bites covering every inch of me and my foot has swelled up badly but other than that I am having a really good time. I would not recommend this tour to anyone unless they had a different tour guide because ours is female, 28 years old and desperate for anything resembling a male that has a pulse. It is quite embarrassing not to mention sickening!
Thats about it really for now, we head to the Jungle via truck tomorrow and there I will let you know how I get on sleeping in a hammock!!!
