Up early for our flight home.....transfer arranged, hassel free. Dust cleared somewhat for our departure. Great to have seen Dubai, love the cleanliness and extreme low crime rate, a credit to Skeikh 'whats his name'. Airport is as clean as the Metro.....someone there to clean the toilet once it has been used, and it's free! Hard yakka getting up this morning.....another warm one coming up, 40C. Thought we would try out the Metro Train today.....off to the Emirates Mall to have a look at the Ski Field, quite a long way from here. The Metro Station is clean as a whistle, has to been seen to be believed......totally enclosed and air conditioned, double doors onto the train. Metros easy to navigate as there are only 2 lines at this stage. Then there's the train itself.....not sure w...

Good morning Dubai......going to be hot and hazy today, 40C. Can see the world's tallest on the building through the haze......sitting on the deck having breaky, overlooking 'the creek'. Hopped in a taxi........off to the 'Dubai Mall'.........OK, it is the Mall to end all Malls! No chance in a week of seeing it all......stunning. The entrance to the Burj Khalifa (tallest building) is here. There are 1200 shops and 120 restaurants. Largest in the world to date......

Smooth flight from Singapore to Dubai - no sleep of course, no dramas though. Flight full, first class looks very comfy. Incredibly busy airport at 0600hrs, like Pitt street at peak hour. Even so we managed to run into a Dutch backpacker who was in our check-in line in Brisbane! Easy to spot, he is about 6'6" tall, an amazing coincidence none the less.
