Leg 8 : race 13 day 6
Woken up at 6.30 was in a deep sleep. We still had the wind seeker up. Heard that 8 boats had finished. So sad we are still out here and in a wind hole. We had 100 miles to go at start of watch Telemed were in front of us and ichorcoal behind. Sea was calm and not a lot of wind still can't believe we are in the North Sea. Got a photo of me and Carl with an oil rig in the background. We are in line with Blackpool now ( although that is on west coast of uk! )
Sun is out but a bit chilly so had thermals on.
Standby watch I washed up helped to hoist Bob up the mast to fix spinnaker hallards we had the code 2 up then watched a film with Carl
Went to bunk at 4 to try and get some rest we had just under 50 miles to go
Had dinner then we got to the finish line in 11th place motored to the port. Had to go through a lock which we did with telemed
Got in around 9pm had some beers and chips. A good atmosphere and good seeing others only one more race to go.

Walked to our hotel took around 15 minutes ; hotel lands end a lovely view out to sea. Got there at 1pm
