Leg 8 : race 13 : day 5
Up on deck at 7 had slept really well. Pancakes for breakfast and a coffee. The code 2 was up the sea was calm and we were making slow progress in a wind hole. We are east of Newcastle Unfortunately we are in 11th place. Smooth sailing. Off watch shift went quickly washed my hair as the boat was flat. We have a notice on the wall in the gallery guessing what time we will get to den helder I said 9.30 Friday night looking forward to getting there. Went I went for 4 hours off we were east of Scarborough
Back on shift at 7pm we had the wind seeker up and it remained up all shift. Can't believe how calm and flat the sea was. Saw a few oil ridges in the distance. Only went 1 mile in our 4 hours as no wind. Heard that the front boat is 60 miles ahead visit Seattle psp and da nang : frustrating we are in 11th!
