Leg 5 race 8 day 8
Up at 5.30 on watch for 6am had porridge on deck. Making good speed sea is calm and sun is out. Got the spinnaker on deck ready to hoist if needed. Shift went quickly then at 10am (end of shift) Richard the media guy wanted to interview me for the tv programme it went really well and he said how well interviewed and that I spoke from the heart!
Came off watch and had a lovely chat and drink with sophie on her bunk (like a loose women interview !) then at 13.00 jumped into bunk for rest till 17.30
On deck at 6pm the spinnaker was up. Shift went quickly trimming and watching out for other boats.
On standby at 10pm made 2 loaves of bread and 3 cakes (one for each mother tomorrow ) sophie made a banner saying happy Mother's Day
Still warm temperature should be colder. As we get closer to China, sea was calm and wind dropped just before I went to bed at 2 we dropped the spinnaker Jibed and put up Yankee and staysail. We are currently in third place
Went to bed 2.30am in top coffin bunk again ! Carl underneath getting used to it now, boat gently rocking me to sleep whilst I listen to my music
