Leg 8; race 13 day 2
Was woken late at 6.45 had to be on deck for 7 made it on time. The Code 2 spinnaker was up we were around 8th but all the boats near to each other. We managed to overtake ichorcoal
Pouring with rain again so got soaked and it's cold! Have a base layer on mid layer and foulies but still wet.
Busy trimming the kite to try and gain more speed. Came off watch at 11 made some garlic bread for dinner. Felt really tired Carl dropped off to sleep. It takes a while for your body to adjust to the shifts again. I am glad it's only a short race ! Looking forward to the comfort of my own home. Had to go on deck to help them gybe. The flannan isles are to our port side and the isle of Lewis on our starboard. The sea has calmed down and not so windy so going at a steady pace. Got reception for a while so texted the kids and spoke to my mum. On deck at 7pm it was so light and remained light though our watch til 11pm we saw some Dolphins. The watch went really quickly as we were busy trimming and managed to over take garmin and GB. We saw land : the isle of Lewis and went past the butt of Lewis ! A good shift
