Leg 8 : race 13; day 3
Woke at 6.39 on deck for 7am it was sunny. During the night we had taken down the code 2 put up the 1 then taken that down now as we had gone through a wind hole. All positions changed we had gone to bed in 3rd place then when we went on deck we were 2nd. It was really close but lovely seeing 10 boats behind us. When we went through pentland firth the 13knots of speed with 4 knots of wind so 9 knots of current amazing. It was lovely to have clear sky's and see the coast of Scotland. Shift went quickly busy keeping an eye on Derry and tacking when needed. Morning shift went quickly as busy then on stand by. Kept popping up on deck as good to see where the other boats were along with watching them on AIS. I like this racing near land and close ! On my off watched a film then back on for 7pm. Daniel had made a wicked dinner such a good cook.
On our evening watch we were off the coast of Scotland could see Lmax Derry visit Seattle and telemed but positions changed as we tacked! All good so far though as we are in leading pack and the sea is better than I thought. Well a lot calmer I so hate big winds and rough seas ! Mind you making good grounds and got phone reception and Lucie has booked our hotel from Friday so fingers crossed we carry on like this and get in early
