Leg 8: race 12: day 17
Woken at 5.30am slept really well. Helped sophie to finish patching and sewing the code 1 which we completed by 9.30 ; yipee
Went on deck for an hour so close to Ireland but no wind now. So frustrating! Phoned and spoke to Ali at work to see how things were.
We now need to go around rathlin island before heading into Derry. Just got stuck for hours in a wind hole mission caught up with us. Washed my hair felt good can't wait to shower.
Watched a film in my 4 hours off. Went on deck at 6 pm. Mission were right next to us so busy trimming at one point they got ahead then we did. We beat them to the finish line but it was close. The sad thing was the last 3 hours of our race were ruined by mark the other watch leader coming on deck and him Bob and Jimmy all giving orders ! Too many chiefs!!! Told Bob how I felt and Carl also voiced his opinions !!! Went off watch to bed just after finish line while the boat motored to the port.
