Leg 8 : race 12 day 15
Woken at 5.30 up on deck for an hour then came down to help sail repair. Started off cold then around 10 the sun came out. It was Caroline's birthday Jimmy had made a banner. Sarah made a cake and Vitaly and Carl decorated it. All sang happy birthday to her. A good happy moment. Wrote a crew diary worked on sail repair all day. Popped up on deck a couple of times just to get some air. Sun was out sea calm and not a lot of wind. Saw a whale managed to video it. We got to our way point off Ireland and are now heading north to a rock called rockall where we go around it then head back south to Ireland for the finish in Derry. Although not doing physical work feel really tired. Worked til 8.30om doing sail repair had a laugh with sophie. Popped up on deck to take a photo of the sunset it was beautiful Heard the Tigers launch the code 2 Sarah was at the helm and Jimmy had to jump in last minute but they got it up safely in the end. Went to bed at 9 and watched a film
