Last day in Koh Lanta
We got picked up by a pick up truck to get the speedboat to the Koh Rok Island. This was a much larger and more powerful speedboat than the one we took to the Similian Island. The journey time to Koh Rok was approximately one hour including an extra pick up on the way. Upon our arrival we could see instantly that this place was absolutely beautiful with the clearest and most turquoise sea that Helen has seen so far!
After dropping the people off the beautiful white sanded beach who did not want to snorkel, the boat went to a point at the smaller island. This was where we did our first snorkel for half an hour and found it fantastic as we saw lots of beautiful colourful fish.
After snorkelling we were taken to the second point for the next snorkelling session but we chose not to get in the water as there were lots of jelly fish around. We were told by the tour staff that if we were to be stung by one it would have been painful.
After everyone finished snorkelling, the speedboat took us to the main beach in Koh Rok. We were given two hours to enjoy it. We had lunch ready for us just off the beach. After lunch we went to the jungly area and saw a couple of big lizards which Koh Rok is famous for. We watched them for a while then went out snorkelling in the crystal blue sea. To our surprise the snorkelling off the beach was really good, there was an abundance of beautiful aquatic life, fantastic coral and we even saw three 'Khuls stingray' unexpectedly which was amazing! We were so excited to see them as it was our first time seeing them. We made the most of the
remaining time on the beach, Jay had an ice cold Chang beer to celebrate this amazing place. Once our time was up we went back to our speedboat to return to
Koh Lanta.
For dinner we went back to 'The Meeting Point' restaurant where Jay had a massaman chicken curry which was very spicy how he likes it. He also had a bottle of Chang with his meal. Helen had glass noodle soup with chicken and a mixed fruit juice to drink. We also had tempura shrimps to share again. After dinner we went
back to our room to pack our stuff ready for Railay, Krabi.
