We went back to the same cafe (Cafe Banvat Sene) as yesterday for breakfast as it was cheap and so tasty. Jay had two baguettes with jam and cream cheese, Helen had a croissant and a sesame bagel with cream cheese. Needless to say, we enjoyed our breakfast. Helen also tried the Laos ice lemon tea which had a distinct herbal taste, which was not that nice. Whilst having breakfast a beggar knelt down by us and begged, which was very awkward. It took him a while to leave, we were tempted to give but did not want to attract other beggars.
After breakfast we hired out push bikes for 35,000 LAK for the both of us. We rode around the city of Luang Prabang and enjoyed it very much, the weather was beautiful for it and the traffic volume was very low. We got soaked by the locals as it was Laos New Year. They throw water on passing people as part of their celebration.
For dinner, we ate at the 'Hive' bar restaurant. We both had a wood oven pizza to share, they were tasty.
Later on in the evening (8.30pm), Helen remembered that our bikes had to be returned by 9pm. We quickly paid the bill for our meal and walked back briskly to our guesthouse to get the bikes then went to the bike shop to return them. After this, we went to a stall to buy some snacks for our journey to Vang Vieng (Backpacker town in Laos). When we got back to our room, we packed our stuff
and had an early night.
