After the floating market we had lunch and then me and Christelle got a separate bus to everyone to go to the Erawan waterfall which was in a national park. We got dropped off and told we had one hour till pick up. With 7 different stages of falls, dropping over1500m vertically in total, it meant having to march like mad to get as much seen as we could in a measly little hour!!
It took us at least 30 minutes to power walk to the 5th fall so had to just jump in that one for a well needed cool down and quick picture knowing we had to get back.
It was hard enough as it was hiking in hot heat and flip flops against the time up and down the muddy jungle but coming back was even harder. Still wet from jumping in, I thought it would be a good idea to coat my feet in fly repellent to keep the mozzys and jungle ants away from me. Unfortunately instead it just made it so impossible to walk sliding straight out of my flip flops on every step that I then attempted walking barefoot. This still did not work because they slid like mad on the mud and I was just sliding back down the slopey mud track which wasn't ideal when we had a bus home to catch.
Luckily and oldish man saw me sliding about like an idiot and grabbed my hand and pulled me along behind him. It was very nice of him to pull me along because it was hard enough getting yourself up the steep steps and down other bits. The tight little speedos he was wearing was a sore sight but I was massively grateful and eventually made it back to our bus (20 mins late and covered in mud!). We then took this to our connecting bus for the 2 hour journey back to Bangkok!
