After a 12 hour bus journey we reached Chiang Mai this morning at 6am giving us 2hrs to nap before our tour of elephant trekking, bamboo rafting, hiking to and swimming in a waterfall and a local lunch in between. Christelle and I were given the smallest elephant but got to feed the biggest ones bananas at the end. The rafting on bamboo shoots was lots of fun and we shared it with a Canadian and German guy but had a Thai boy at the front steering. Our job was just to hold on, which we did fine after all falling onto it at the start! The hike was through rice fields and through a little village where we tried smoking local tobacco wrapped in a banana leaf. Christelle me and the Canadian guy were the only 3 out of the 12 to jump into the waterfall for a splash around, the rest weren't as brave/stupid! Tonight we are hoping to go watch some Thai boxing after booking tomorrows activities :)
