Wow! What a day. Up in time for a quick breakfast (of course) and then in a tuk tuk to meet the bus. Finally made it to the border where the little man told us we wouldn't make it to the train because immigration queue was too long. Cost $6USD for the trip from Siem Reap up to the border, would have cost $10USD all the way to Bangkok (About 10 hours) but he wanted $10USDx3 from the border to Bangkok. Oh well, just pay the man and move on. We don't want to get stuck in a strange place when we have a nice hotel to get to tonight. After 3 hours, 2 in the queue in the sun, 1 inside the building, we were through the other side. Lots of construction going on, people everywhere, more dust for miles, carts being pulled, mess, mess, everywhere, the loaded us on to vans and trucks one after the other to get us up to where the bus was. When we got to the wee bus terminal there was a couple of hundred people and 2 mini vans. Not a pretty sight. Hot hot hot. Decided to catch a taxi, of course no refunds or any type of customer service, $50USD to Bangkok with a lovely Spanish guy Cheyenne met on the bus. He was keen to get to the airport and catch his flight. 3 hours 20 later, we arrived at the airport. Phew! Then caught a taxi to the hotel, 35 mins. Phew. The sky continues to fill up with more and more smog if that is possible, the roads are packed, the dust is a little bit less. Our hotel is beautiful. Glass elevator behind you up to the 11th floor. Didn't even realise the whole of the Bangkok lights were shining behind me in the darkness and through the smog. A bit of an expensive day plus hotel is all plus plus lah. Plus gym, plus internet, plus breakfast. Will move on today and find something else. Up to the 20th floor to an even better view. Then up to the 31st floor for Cheyenne to sing us a karaoke song :)
