Well Just arrived in Melaka in south Malaysia Heading out for a wander around here for two nights b4 heading on up to Kuala Lumpur. Weather hotter here than singapore.
On our first night we went to the night markets that happened to be on the street in which we are staying on..A nice plush Hostel too!Went for something to eat that cost 3.00euro for meal and drinks. There was loads of street entertainment and plenty of music coming from the karoke bars.We then took a ride on a trishaw..like a tuk tuk.the guy peddled us around Melaka town for an hour...dripping in sweat and stopping at the main attractions to take our photo..and charged us five euro! Was a very nice trip around the busy little town..a well deserved drink was then needed in a nice bar with live music. The Malay people seem very friendy and helpful.
Today we Went to a Portugese Museum which was on a reconstructed Ship.Very nice.We then ventured for a Mc Donalds and went to the shopping mall.We then got a coastal sea cruise which was very informative about the spice trade in Melaka. Here we got to see Kangaroo fish (fish jumping from the water in hundreds), Floating Mosque, fishermen, and many islands in the distance. We then went to the discovery cafe for a beer.Lisa took the windy stairs up to the rooftop for the view of the river and Melaka town. After this we went to St.Pauls church which was on top of a hill..and had to climb many steps to get to it.We then went to the Royal Palace Museum and gardens.Boiught some paintings from a guy called Abdul..who was very nice and told us interesting stories about the different places he travelled to in the 1980s.Then went for an evening meal to a nice restaurant with live music.Another eventful day.Off to Kuala Lumpur tomorrow.
