Rosetown - home for the next 6weeks.
Steven is at work today, his first day at his new job. he is working on a cropping farm about 15mins from Rosetown for the harvest season (about 6weeks) and we will be parking the van at the property, and living there.
Rosetown is about the same size as Margaret River, exept in the heart of the mid-west prairie country. its a really nice town (i'll take some photos soon) and the people are really friendly and helpful.
how we got here???..........
Thursday we decided we were ready to stop for a while and start looking for a job, so we started heading in-land towards the farming area.
Friday we spent at Gull Lake, went to the Lacombe Corn Maze (which was a hoot!) and found our selves in a little town of Bentley. they were having there country fair and annual Rodeo over the next few days; so we found a camping spot and parked up for a few days of Rodeo action!
we watched two nights of pull packed rodeo riding, then Saturday night we went to the rodeo ball and two-stepped the night away with the local cowboys and cowgirls (we were thinking of you Jeff B).
we happended to picked up a copy of the 'Western producer' newspaper; highlighted a few jobs that sounded like what we were after...and after a few phone calls, a nice farmer in Rosetown asked if we could be here by Tuesday.
so here we are.
on the way over we stopped in Drumheller a explored a bit of the bad-lands area. AMAZING! we are defintly going back that way when we have some more time.
today i'm looking for a job; lots going so it wont be too hard.
we are both looking forward to stopping for a while.... all this holidaying and adventuring is hard work!!! hehehe
