Our time in Hong Kong has come to an end and we are about to hit the roads and airways again Australia bound. Yesterday was well spent on a trip to Lantau Island in the New Territories. Our destination was a giant Bronze Buddah and monastery high up in the hills. Getting there involved a 40 minute cable car ride which was extremely high up and seemingly suspended from thin air. We love our hotel and it is in a great location right by the Star Ferry terminal. After a beer by the pool we hopped on the ferry and went over to Kowloon for the evening. Supper first in the Jade Garden recommended by Dino who drove us from the airport to our hotel. Only 28 hours from Awliscombe to Hong Kong . All very easy travelling . Now we are sitting enjoying a cup of green tea in our hotel room looking out over Hong Kong Harbour. A swim in the roof top pool beckons with a trip later over to Kowloon on the Star Ferry for a spot of supper and the night market. Feels like we are really on holiday now. H & D xx

Tomorrow we set off on our great walkabout adventure. Hong Kong first for a few days before we arrive in Port Douglas to snorkel on thr Great Barrier Reef.
