BANGKOKMonday 5th January 2010Bangkok First impressions....clean, regular roads, dual carriageways, lack of potholes, traffic lights, traffic stays in lanes, not dusty, no piles of rubble and rubbish, developed...concrete and glass buildings, multi-stories and flyovers...this immediatly feels like a different country.'First' our rice barge guide picked us up. He was named First as he was the first born son! Very nice guy..transport was very posh air conditioned m...

we are out of hospital...for a few days! Bobs back in on Monday for minor op...then we're off to Singapore on the 18th. Completely missed Thailand ( not altogether..Bangkok, Kanchaburi ( Kwai) and Rice Barge trip )..and Malaysia ..but either we'll reorganise our trip to come back..or it will have to be another year! Main thing is that Bob has had good care here and we've had a good place to stay...and is now recuperating.

No we're not really on the sea...but are out of hospital...for a few days! Bob has had his op which went well...he's feeling OK but tired. He goes back in as a day patient on Monday to have a tube which is still there removed..and alongwith it the remnants of the pesky kidney stone. Now in our wonderful little oasis of a wonderful 50's hotel..with gently jazz in the background..with fresh watermelon and banana juice in his hand...and bl**** can't believe it....t...

Just a quickie...very busy and enjoyable trip round Cambodia and vietnam...blog entries to follow later. Unscheduled stop here in Bangkok as Bob has kidney stones which need to be operated on. he's going in tomorrow ( Sat6th). The hospital is very good..like 5 star hotel ..and he has faith in the consultant. we're in a good hotel nearby and the insurance has eventually kicked in so all is as well as it could be. Will update in a few days...still don't have ...
