Hey Guys!! Well, we took a crazy long train to Milan from Barcelona which was an adventure!! We made the Train by MINUTES!!! it was incredible! when we were trying to check out of our hostel there was no one at the desk and we couldnt find anyone. I didnt feel right just leaving incase there was something else we needed to take care of so once we found someone we jumped on the metro and literally ran about 4 blocks with our 40lb packs on our backs. We were running through the metro station yelling EXCUSE ME!!! SORRY! trying to get people to move... it was a Kodak moment i am sure! once we made it to the train we just got on then walked down about 25 or so cars to get to ours. People were looking at us and laughing probably because we were both dripping sweat and beat red and out of breath... plus we kept getting stuck in the doors and stuff as we were walking so that was probably pretty funny to other people too. So we ended up having a pretty comfy train to Milan. I slept great! once we got there we booked the train to Pisa that same night so we could just spend the day in Milan. We took the tour bus around the city which was a litle disappointing. We did end up finding the strips to shop on which was nice and we did a little... didnt really get anything though... backapckers budget doesnt allow milan shopping... HA! but we could a small little something so that was nice. Then once we were done we found that we could book an earlier train to Pisa so we did. We got in about 10 last night and walked around until we found a place to stay. We were getting a bit worried about having to spend another night in the train station because the places that were close enough to walk to were WAY expensive (they were hotels so it was to be expected). But our last effort was triumphant! we think the guy felt bad for us so he gave us a room for $60 EU for the night... (the rest of the places were charging min $60 EU EACH per night) so we lucked out! AND the room was gorgeous!!! Plus we had a shower which was ALL we cared about last night! lol... it is VERY hot and all the walking we are going isnt...uh... stink friendly. we felt bad for the people in the train car with us on the way to Pisa so if that can give you any insight to what we were dealing with here... And now we are in Pisa... it is the picturesque Italian city. So cute and Quaint!! We both love it. We have a train to Rome at about 7 our time so we will do some more walking around here, hopfully find a beach or something then head off to Rome. We should have internet there that is more easily accessible so we will try to load pictures there. And according to the weather (thank goodness for pictures and numbers because italian is a bit difficult to undestand) report that was in the Hotel yesterday it is only going to get hotter the further south we go (which obviously makes sense). i think the warmth is a nice change from the rain of the UK and Paris but i think it will be nice to go back once we get to rome and its 33 degrees celcius (we have determined that the farenheight conversion is about 3 times the celcius number give or take a few degrees). Well we are going to head off to finish Pisa ans will see you in Italia!! =)
Ciao!!
xoxo, C
