Today, I was to start my first part of my bus pass to take me to Sydney and I don't know how I managed to get on the bus, as had the biggest hang over from the neighbours night last night! I got picked up at six thirty after getting in last night (this morning at about half one! As soon as the bus arrived I climbed on and went straight to sleep. About an hour after we had left we stopped for a lovely breakfast. I had an egg and bacon, which really done the trick and I felt much better. There were only five of us on the tour which was nice. There were two blokes called Paul and Stewart and two Malaysian girls who I can't spell their names. On our way we pulled up and walked through to an area in the woods where there were wild kangaroos. It was brilliant but a bit scary. The guide told us to make sure that we could always see him, but I got so wrapped up in the seeing so many kangaroos in their natural habitat that I lost the guide and ended up quite close to a kangaroo. It stood up and just started staring at me! The guide told us that if this happened we should just slowly turn around and walk away. This is what I did but the kangaroo kept on staring! I still can't believe that I saw so many kangaroos like that, it was incredible.
We then carried on and had several stops along the way until we reached Wilsons Promontory. Here, we went on a little walk up into the woods and then along the most beautiful beach I have ever seen in my life, called Squeeky Beach! Unfortunately, my battery had died on my camera, but am pinching some photos from one of the guys on my bus, so you will be able to see them. We had lunch here too, on our walk and the views over the beach were amazing!
After this we got back on the bus and headed towards a place called Lakes Entrance, where we had an overnight stay. Before heading to dinner at a delicious fish and chip restaurant, we got to visit the 90 mile beach, which is again totally amazing! Our hostel was quite nice and I had my own room, and the boys were across the hall, which made me feel better. The hostel was like one of those motels in America and reminded me of a horror film, so felt a bit uneasy. It was so cold here, as we were quite south and there was not heater, so I nicked another quilt off the other beds in my room and snuggled down. Tomorrow we are heading to Jindabyne, and going up to the Snowy Mountains, where we can have a go at skiing! Am a bit nervous, as I have never done skiing before but am definitely going to give it my best shot!!
