Hi everybody, sorry I haven't updated anything in a while, but it has been difficult to get on the net at the places I've been to recently. On the 4th October I arrived into Noosa and I knew I was going to love it as soon as I got there. Noosa is a small beachy town with beautiful lakes and a stunning National Park. The hostel I stayed at was great and was within walking distance to a small beach called Pelican Bay.
On my first day I went to Australia Zoo (Steve Irwins' zoo) with Jo and Paul, it was brilliant and extremely hot! On the way to the zoo they played a dvd that showed everything about Steve's life, which was a bit sad, but it really made you appreciate what a great person he was. When we arrived at the zoo we realised how big it was and really didn't think we would be able to get around the whole thing in just one day, but we did manage it somehow. There were so many different animals at the zoo such as, Crocodiles (that Steve rescued), Snakes, Kowalas, Tasmanian Devils, Kangaroos and lots more. My favourite animal was the Kowalas though, they are just the cutest animals ever. Everywhere you went in the zoo you could kind of feel Steves' presence, as his pictures were everywhere, it was a strange feeling.
The highlights of the day were being able to hand feed an elephant and holding a Kowala! Her name was Ellen and she was so cuddly and like a little baby, I loved her and just wanted to run off with her. She did do a little poo on me though! lol. We also watched a crocodile show and one of the keepers playing with his tigers in the water, he must be insane, as they were jumping all over him, but it was brilliant to watch.
We were all so tired after walking around all day in the heat, so when we got back to the hostel we had dinner and then had an early night. I had such a great day. I love going to zoo's at home, but you can't even compare Australia Zoo to any others at home, it is just fantastic and I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it.
It was time for Jo and Paul to leave the next day and move onto their next stop. It was quite sad to say bye, as we ended up spending nearly two weeks together, but hopefully we will bump into eachother again on our way up the east coast. My last two days in Noosa were spent on the beach with a book and my Ipod, and I loved every minute of it. It was so so hot and I ended up getting quite brown, and have even got a bit of a tan on my legs now! Finally!
My next stop is Rainbow Beach, so hopefully the weather will be nice so I can spend more time on the beach.
Take care everyone x
