Today was my last journey on the Oz bus and was very sad. I've had such a great time on it and will miss it a lot. I wont miss the crazy early starts though. So today I left Mission Beach and went to last stop in Oz, Cairns. On the way to Cairns we stopped at a Crocodile farm where we got to watch some crazy park ranger feeding the Crocs. Lets just say for the size of some of the Crocs they have in there, you have got to be pretty brave to get that close to them.
I got to hold a baby crocodile again and somehow ended up holding another snake! I was talking to someone and the park ranger just came over and put in on my shoulders, so I just smiled, quickly looked at the camera and then asked him to take it off me. It wasn't as bad as the last time at Magnetic Island, because it didn't move as much, but it still gave me the shivers. I also had a Lizard put on my shoulder and on everyone else it stayed sitting there nicely, but on me it decided to run across my chest! I didn't think it was as cute then, it felt horrible.
It was then time to walk around the park and watch the crazy rangers feed the crocs. We then went and fed some Kangaroos (I've seen so many Kangaroos, to last a lifetime), and then the best part of the day was going to see the Dingoes. There was a big pack of them and the ranger got an adult out and a puppy. I got to hold the puppy and he was so cute, I just wanted to take him home with me. I turned around and some even cuter animals were there. One of the rangers had brought over some baby Wallabies in blankets (to act as the pouch) and I got to hold these too! They were so adorable and only 8 weeks old.
It was then time to leave and make our way to Cairns and the time came to say bye to the Oz bus. I've had the best time on the Oz Experience and am hoping the Kiwi Experience in New Zealand will be just as good. When I arrived at my hostel I ended up bumping into the guys I went to Fraser Island with again. Was great to see everyone and that night we went to the Woolshed for dinner. We had a few drinks and then watched some Goldfish racing. Very random. The fish were put up for auction, people in the bar would buy them and then race them for a prize. The fish were placed into the water and the owner of the fish had to blow bubbles behind them through a straw to try and get them to swim to the finish line. It was so funny to watch, but I felt a bit sorry for the fish.
The next day was spent around the pool with Iain and Catriona and I've never felt so hot in my entire life. After a day in the sun and feeling a bit frazzled it was off to the Woolshed again for dinner. I didn't want a big night, as had to get up early for my boat trip to the Great Barrier Reef, so I had an early night.
