Hi everyone,
Arrived at Breckenridge Lodge in Hawkes Bay just outside Napier at around 4pm. Malcom met us and showed us around the lodge, which had been purpose built and had some nice grounds.
Dined at the lodge in the evening as Malcom was a gormet chef. We were joined by an elderly couple called Bill and Sue and who were terribly posh! The food was beautiful and the company entertainint with some fairly heated debates!
Saturday woke up to a lovely warm and suny morning. After breakfast we decided to go into Napier and do a self guided Napier walking tour. Didn't take us too long as it was pretty unimpressive. The highlight was going into a CD shop and buying Snow Patrols new album! We then drove down to Cape Kidnappers and found a nice little cafe for lunch.
After lunch we went to the Wool World at Clifton Station, my idea! The farmer Ian showed us around and gave us the history of the farm and industry, he was very enthusiastic. He then did a sheep shearing show for us. He took Sky out and rounded up the sheep. He then picked out a ewe and lamb. First he sheared the ewe with the manual shears, with Dad turning the wheel then he sheared the lamb with the electric shears. It was very impressive, and art form almost. Met the big black pig on the way out who was feeling sorry for himself as he had got into a whole tub of honey!
Took a leisurely drive back to the lodge and Dad got stopped for speeding again! Luckily the policeman had a bit of humour and let Dad off with a warning!
Ate in the lodge again, another gorgeous meal and it was just the 3 of us.
Love Hayley x
