Hi everyone,
By the time we had collected the bags, got the hire car and drove the short distance to the Museum Hotel it was late afternoon. Checked into our apartment and then had dinner in the hotel. The restaurant was called the Hippotmaus and had views over the harbour.
Had breakfast usual time Friday morning. We were all set to leave at 9.30am to find we had a flat tyre. It wasn't too much of a drama, the Hertz guys came out to change it and brought another spare. Apparently there was no noticable puncture so it was likely that the valve had gone and it had just been pumped up! Managed to eventually get away just before 11am. The drive up to Napier took about 5 hours, travelling north up the 1 then we came cross country a bit on the 57 to Woodville. Came across a road closure on the road and had to divert around because a load of earth had fallen into the gorge. After the 57 we continued up the 2 and then the 50 all the way to just outside Napier. Stopped in a little heritage village called Norsewood, strange little place very quiet!
Love Hayley x
