Poem I have written on the Chile Disaster!

On August the 5th 2010
A mine shaft caves in
And traps 33 men

After 17 days
Trapped underground
Alive and in shelter
The miners were found

Coring a total of 3 bore holes
The country unites
As the story unfolds

As food and supplies
Were sent down below
Signs of a rescue
Were beginning to show

The San Esteban Company
Who owns the mine
Went bankrupt -
At the worst ever time!

But the Chilean Judge
Aint playin games
To secure the compensation claims......

Nearly 2 millions dollars
From the company's accounts
Was imediately frozen
For the victims amounts

With support from the President
And even the pope
The miners were given
A glimmer of hope

They spoke to their loved ones
By radio and phone
They held a conference
With their family's at home

The final rescue
Opp-er-ation
United Chillie
As a nation

After 69 days
The end was near
The miners surfaced
To a hero's cheer

Rising to fame
Bearing their scars
The miners are viewed
As media stars
