Tuesday 26th April
After a lie in we headed out and onto the tube to the zoo! We paid £8 entrance for both of us and we had a great day and the sun was shining! We saw all sorts of animals (not in the best enclosures though!) you could buy food to feed them but they seemed to enjoy the popcorn we had more! We spent hours wondering around feeding Llamas, baboons, zebra's etc! We ended by watching a sea-lion show (it was quite sad after seeing them in the wild!)
After the zoo we went to McDonalds - but only to use their wifi! Then we spent the evening wondering the main shopping St. Av Florida - very much like Oxford St! No partying tonight - early night!
Wednesday and Thursday we spent time wondering around the city browsing shops etc!
Friday we slept in so completely missed the royal wedding :-( and as the weather was miserable we chilled in the hostel!
Saturday we headed to a big Market at Recoleta, we eventually arrived after lots of confusion with tube stops (my fault - Joe wasn't happy! It was a cool Market with alsorts of handicrafts. We wondered for a while before heading back to the hostel to get ready for another meal at La Cabrera! Yum! After we partied at the hostel! Staying up to watch Liverpool beat Newcastle 3-0.
Sunday was spent in bed only getting up for food!
Monday we booked our bus to Mendoza (13 hrs) and went to watch Boca Juniors play Internacional! It was a brilliant experience - no seating in the part of the stadium and it was rammed! The away fans were above us and luckily we were covered as they were throwing urine filled balloons down onto the Boca fans! The atmosphere was amazing - especially when Boca scored! The hooligans (known as Player number 12) were so entertaining! Constantly singing and jumping around. Internacional scored an equaliser to make the final score 1-1. When the game finished we had to wait about 40 mins for the away fans to leave. When we were let out the away fans has pissed all down the stairways and it stank!
We arrived back to the hostel about midnight, packed our bags and I went to bed while the boys had a few drinks!
Tuesday we were going to go for a massage but found out the therapists were male so opted out! We wondered a bit before grabbing a cab to the bus station - 15 mins away... Except the taxi driver did not understand us and drive us to the opposite side of BA. 8.10 (bus was departing at 8.30) the taxi driver finally understood where we wanted to go. We arrived at 8.35 - Joe sprinted to hold the bus (which luckily was just about to leave but waited!) arguing with the taxi driver over payment he eventually accepted 30 pesos and we made it on the bus!
We were served a 3 course meal with red wine then had champagne and whiskey before reclining our leather beds and watching a film on our individual tv's. We were woken with a pastry breakfast with tea and orange juice just before arriving in Mendoza at 9am!
