This blog about visiting the Richard Branson school of Entrepeneurship is about a week late but your blog editor, despite the many demands on his time is finally up to date in the blog which immediately follows - about our trip to Cape Town
Last week we had an interesting trip into Joburg city central.on Wednesday morning to visit the Richard Branson School of Entrepreneurship. Owen Burton (Bizza) (Rachaels Husband)is the acting CEO there and he invited us to see the place . Also he was keen for his students to do a pitch of their businesses plans - to give them practice. We asked them questions about their businesses and it was tremendously interesting to see what they were up to. There were 5 students who delivered their businesses ideas , some were already running their business and needed help with growing it and also management and finance. Very exciting to hear these budding entrepreneurs give their pitch. . Some we could see were well on the way, others were just developing their ideas, however it was exciting to be involved. We were there till noon, then we headed back to school.
The students finished the large silk painting which we have been working on and it is looking pretty good. Quite spectacular, everyone who sees it goes WOW. So now I am getting one of the students who has a sewing business at the school to do the hemming for a rod to hang it up. I am keeping it secret as it will be unveiled to the majority at the school on the big Arts Festival which is to open next weekend. I will be declaring the art exhibitionand the festival open on Sunday night . There will be 2 choirs singing, a Dance performance and a Play put on over three days.
This Saturday we are to paint the Baobab tree in the interfaith room. There is a group organised to gather on Saturday afternoon, and that will finish the painting, but now I seem to have become involved in making the curtains for this room. Anyway that will not happen till after the Arts festival which is starts next Sunday.
The students finished the tree on Saturday afternoon just before we left to go the Capetown. It turned out pretty good, so we feel that everyone should be happy with it. (Picture in the album)
