Sorry folks - no photo and you are lucky to get this.
My new rush into 21st century with an Airtel USB Modem has cast my mind back to the days of dial-up, but along with everything Indian it is actually working!
Tomorrow afternoon we head off to Goa from here on an overnight train that delivers us at our destination at 4 o'clock in the morning.
However we have really enjoyed our stay here and have seen the famous sunset over the Chinese Fishing Nets. We are staying in a small hotel which was once part of the fort at the head of the expansive harbour from which the Indian spice trade was launched.
Yesterday and today we took a trip by car (Ambassador of course) to the tea plantations high up in the Western Ghats around the town of Munnar. On the way we witnessed the daily bath of elephants at the Kodakal Training Camp and sampled many fruits and spices including jack fruit, cashews, cardomom and coffee. Jenny is in food seventh heaven while I struggle to find a beer!
Munnar was absolutely stunning and we likened the scenery to that of green carpet that had jigsaw pieces. We were also lucky enough to see a wild elephant - an old male with huge tusks.
This has to be quick and maybe I can make it longer in the north. It might take three hours to upload and I want to go to bed!!!

Jenny Joseph Thoroughly enjoying reading your blog. I am very envious. Glad you are both having a great time.
sandy Seeing the elephants would have been a fantastic experience. Is the Training Camp for the elephants or the military????My most exciting experience this weekend was taking Jackson and Mackenzie on the trolley car rail at Healesville. It was a superb day weather wise and went went out from H/ville about 4 kms thru a tunnel towards Tarrawarra. Lots of love
Marie How lucky to see an elephant in the wild, that must of been amazing. Back at work today after being sick for a week. Enjoy your trip sounds great love m
