Today we did a big bus tour to rest our legs and get a feel for the city. We had a really great guide and saw a lot. We went to the 'top of the rock' and had great views over the city north and south. We then walked around fifth, Broadway and times square which was amazing. Started the day with our secret breakfast then headed downtown on the subway. Really enjoyed wandering around the streets suddenly getting a glimpse of the empire state or Rockefeller centre. The new one world trade centre is an impressive site. I thought the ground zero memorials were well done. Today we drove from Boston to New York City. We said goodbye to the car after 5,000 miles. We have an amazing room in a big town house (photo) with a nice big bath, high ceilings and beautiful wood flooring. Interestingly breakfast is included although not advertised because of the strict laws here, there are no official B&Bs in NY apparently. Can't wait to explore tomorrow.

We went out whale watching from Boston Harbour and got to see a mother and calf humpback whale. It was an unbelievable experience. We then enjoyed a nice cup of tea on the harbour.

Today we drove a short way up the coast to Boston. The weather is lovely and we walked the freedom trail which took us around the city past historic locations.
