8.00 bus from Banos to Latacunga. Bit of a wait for bus to Chugchilan, during which Rob got chatted up: question 1 - which country are you from? question 2 - are you married? 4 hours, many winding mountain roads, a few minor diversions around landslides, and a few villages later, arrived in Chugchilan. Popped to the square and bought some street food, which we ate watching some youngsters kick a football around near the church. Given the lack of information and other guests at our hostel, went to the one next door to speak to people about the best walks etc. Decided we would up sticks and move to Quilotoa the next day rather than hike between villages. Lazed about in the hammocks before firstly getting 'rocked' aggressively by a young girl (I think she wanted the hammock) and secondly before the temperature dropped and we had to find our alpaca warmers. Standard chicken and rice dish in the hostel (all meals around this way included because restaurants as we know them don't exist), before putting on our alarm for 3.30 and doing out best to keep warm.
