Awoke to a drizzly morning, not what we were expecting on the Brazilian coast. Undeterred we set off on a walk heading north along the beach which stretched for miles and miles..... although we barely made it on to the sand. Spotting some surfers in the bay we turned back to the hostel, squeezed in to some wetsuits and headed back to the beach with boards in hand. After a couple of hours we'd reached our limits with the cold water and our inability to stand up for too long. It was either that we were on more advanced boards or that we didn't have enough wax but we certainly weren't up to our Nicaraguan standards. All the same it was good fun trying.
The sun finally came out mid afternoon so after watching the surfers, kayakers etc enjoy the sunnier conditions and some fisherman casting out their nets, we went to laze on the beach.
Later sampled another Caipirinha or two whilst teaching the Aussie guys we'd met the night before a few card games.
