Ok so after Fraser we headed to 1770 - we was told it was nice there and booked 3 nights - it was nice to chill out but we was originally going to book 5 so glad we didn't as 3 nights was more then enough.
On our first day us girls went on a free tour that they put on for the backpackers and it takes you to certain look outs around the island - 1770 is a shared town with Agnes Waters and Agnes Waters only has about 69 residents which probably explains the inbreed that was part of the tour!! He was soooo weird and i couldn't listen to anything he said as i'm sure his mother is his brother type thing??! 1770 is also a very expensive part of Queensland to live in and a small piece of land - enough for a caravan is worth 2.5 million dollars! Next to this expensive piece of land was a tin shack with a sign on it saying 'The luv shack' and underneath 'Stud'? Apparently this houses a single old man who has lots of money and has put the sign up for any women that feels the need to be 'serviced' as the inbreed called it? Someone asked if this was true to which another guide said 'I don't know - why don't you come back later and find out? May be why the tour is free?
Later that day us girls and Dave had booked to go on 'Scooter-roo' which is famous in 1770, its basically converted bikes and scooters which take you on a tour of the island (self driven) then to watch the sunset on the only part of the Gold Coast where the sun sets in the sea. They ask if you can ride a bike and reassure you that there's nothing to be nervous as its that easy - there was 40 in our group and Dave was the first to go, obviously he done it fine - i went later on when (luckily for me) only about another 15 girls were left to go - well I looked like a complete out of control nutter and just couldn't manage to go straightl!! The guy stopped me and asked 'Can you ride a bike'? I said of course and then he said 'Well when was the last time'? - i actually cant remember but I CAN ride i bike! Anyway i continued but didn't manage to get out of the complex before i fell off, marked my leg and put a whole in my trousers!! Then i spagettied myself down to the entrance where the inbreed from the morning was waiting (he also works for scooter-roo!) i said i didn't think i could do it to which he said 'No, neither do I' - such confidence! Anyway i had to go on the back of the owner which meant I went at the front fo the group and as his bike was self built it went a whole lot faster then the rest - He turned to me at one point and said 'Are you wearing knickers'??? I said yes and he said 'Well hold onto them' - he went so bloody fast down this hill my helmet fell off - with he strap still around my neck thus chocking me then lost my sunglasses!!!
Finally the tour came to an end and the owner offered me to pick from the sunglasses he had on sale - he clearly felt sorry for me! Think Dave was embarrassed too as he was completely unaware of what was going on as he was the first to go and was a bit surprised when I pulled up on the back of the owners! ooops
Our last day we didn't really do much - the hostel was nice so we just put a few DVD's on then took a walk down the beach. As it was our last day with the girls again we all went out for an Indian (backpackers special of course). The following day me and Dave headed for the Cattle Station as its an obligatory stop and one i wasn't really looking forward too.......
