Ok so River Valley - we was told it would be very remote, in the hills and there was nothing there apart from the lodge we was staying in. They were putting on a cheap dinner for us - a roast!!! Dave nearly wet himself but i'm not so keen and think roasts are never as good as home cooked ones by your Mum! Straight after dinner Rich and Dave went fishing in the lake just outside, well Rich went fishing and Dave watched - it was really beautiful and as remote as they had said so me and Liz took some pictures and booked us all into the sauna and hot tub for the night. All four of us spent the night in the outside hot tub - which was unbelievably hot (but we struggled through!!!) then on into the sauna. Not much else to report from RV really as the main reason you go their is for the white water rafting but we had already done that so we all just chilled. The following day we had to wait for the rafters to get back and get ready so we had a lay in then after brekkie played cards and eventually found a large jenga - giant jenga is def more fun, even with cheaters!
After River Valley we headed to Wellington, the capital of New Zealand! This is our last stop in the North island before we make our way down into the south. We checked in and went for a walk to check out what was about, the following day we all went to the Ta PaPa museum which is meant to be like the natural history museum in London, twas good as the main attraction was an enormous giant squid but we was all a little bored by about the 3rd level (think there is about 7?) so we headed out and got ourselves ready for our treat for the evening! As it was our last night in the North island we decided to go for a well deserved Indian mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm - was planning on doing the Lord of the Rings tour there but it rained so have postponed it until Queenstown.
