I decided it would be easier to put the rest of Vietnam in one blog as I done it so quickly. We went from Nha Trang to Mui Ne, Mui Ne was so nice! We arrived in the morning and put our backpacks in the tourist office for the day as we weren't staying there the night and couldnt find Vicki to put our stuff in her room. We got motor bike taxi's to the sand dunes which were really nice. There are tons of young kids who try and sell you plastic tray type things to slide down the dunes with. We should have shared one really as they were quite rubbish and you couldnt really slide down.
We met Vicki later and went to a really nice bar called Pogo. Whilst there we showered but it was a really little shower in the open as its for people who just went in the sea. Luckily it was dark and there was a palm tree right in front so it covered us up a bit but it was so awkward we just had to laugh it off. We had dinner and some drinks with some American guy and he was paying for most of it! Our bus was supposed to leave at 1am and we were so tired so he just brought us loads of vodka and red bull, which did do the job! We waited on the pavement at quarter to 1 but the bus didnt come until 2. The American guy just stayed with us till the bus came but Mui Ne is really safe so it was fine.
Our bus arrived in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) the next day at 8am and quickly found accomodation before heading to the Cu Chi tunnels, built for the war with America. They lived in these masses of tunnels to avoid getting got by the Americans, its actually really good. We had the chance to go in them but my nerves took over and I couldnt do it, It looked horrid. Some people further up were on their knees and hands to climb through and there were so many people I didnt want to do that! I shot an AK42 (Think thats its name) which was so fun, but bit weird as they were actually used in the war so its a bit creepy. We went to the war museum after which was so good but so so sad. It gives you so much info on the war, I learnt so much! They are still effected from it as the Americans used chemicals so lots of people are still being born with deformaties! The pics there are horrific! We left there feeling quite sad! We didnt really do much else here and left the next day for Phom Phenn, Cambodia.
I did like Vietnam but not that much, I dont feel like I would go baclk. I wish I hadn't rushed it that much though, maybe I would have a different experience and would have given it a bit of a chance but at least I didnt skip loads which some people do..so stupid! Cambodia was a great experience and I would go there again in a second! I loved it, but that will be in the next blog and my time is running out now. I am currently in the South of Thailand and its chill out time before Oz! I have met some people doing the exact same route as me which is so good! :) cant wait for FMP!!! XX
