Thamel Is a myriad of shops cafes and guesthouse in a maze of high narrow dusty streets always busy and always noisy my room is on the front right next to the road which doesn't really bother me as I seem to have the ability to sleep anywhere uncomfortable and noisy( trains.buses.airports) although I will be moving due to the bed bugs and the electricity going of every other hour which seems to be only in my street.food in Nepal is amazing and for a tandoori set or nepalise thali at £1 to £2.50 it's cheap.wanted to trek into the mountains however during a trip up to the local monastery I couldn't stop coughing only a small hour trek)so the thought of three days in the mountains seems impossible.so I will grab the morning bus at 6.30 and head the 8 hours to pakhora and par-ascend through the mountains and probably catch the Buddha flight around Everest to see the mountain and come back when I'm fit to trek to base camp.beer is £2.50 here so I have stopped drinking as much however Marlboro are only 80p so I am smoking a lot which doesn't help the chest.i had the local momo's which are a chicken and vegetable dumplings with a creamy spicy curry dip delicious at £1 for 8.I really like Nepal .Update... Pokhara is the second biggest city however it's not that busy and very chilled met some Canadian girls and had a few beers they were about to do a 12 day trek to the mountains to 5000 m ( very jealous!!!) due to the weather the cross mountain par ascending flights have been cancelled due to lack of thermos to keep you high so they offered me 40 min scenic flight however the clouds have been low and it has been delayed so if the weather doesn't clear I won't be able to do it ( same with the Everest flight) wish I had more time.defiantly coming back to do the Everest base camp when the weather is perfect and so is my health.
