Pokhara is a strange city pretty relaxed full of hippies , meditation classes and yoga.not that many Trekkers plenty of travellers to talk to and have a beer ,probably when the season starts it will be packed and so will the empty Bollywood dance clubs .after the weather became s***ty and many no's from the para gliders I had given up on the idea and went for breakfast,on my way back to the guest house the girl who ran the office opposite shouted across the street " john we go " .so 20 minutes later we were high in the mountains looking down on the town.after a minute of explanation the Nepalese guy strapped me in and said when I shout run , runof the mountain so that's what I did, and within seconds we were in the air, catching thermals we lifted into the clouds spinning and rising as a couple of eagles flew parallel with us it was the most amazing experience you could virtually touch them .the flight lasted about 40 min of soaring then spinning lower( which makes you a bit queazy ) and then lifting on the thermals .the views of the mountains lakes and tiny town below we're amazing.after a pretty soft landing I still felt a bit sick so I jumped on to the back of the 4x4 and headed into town got some masala spicy tea and crashed.woke after a few hours went for tandoori and chatted to my israeli neighbour for a few hours about how after the army he had a few anger management issues and after travelling the world had found meditation was the only thing to help,he then invited me to his meditation class,so with nothing else to do besides pack for the bus back to Kathmandu ,I might go and meditate with the Israeli soldier.?
