After leaving china took a very turbulent short flight to Nepal weird as the planes wheels were down way above the clouds as we prepared to land we only had just cleared the clouds before touching down but the airport is nestled in the mountains .after getting my visa it came quite apparent that the Nepalese were pretty easy going as the visa official took the piss out of every question asked him by the many travellers at the desk.after getting my bags I walked out of the airport and was confronted with a mob of chanting Nepalese a band and hundreds of photographers and a few film crews ( now I no what it feels like to be a celebrity.ha) apparently the Nepalese cricket team were on a flight arriving at the same time and they had just won an international which apparently is rare.I had already arranged a pickup and jumped in the back of a very beaten old van the rules of the road( well I say road if you can call it that pot holes rocks and dust) are if you can fit go no matter what side or direction you are going its madness .the whole place is manic and so are the people , lots of shops selling everything buddhist to carpets cashmere sweaters incense and hiking gear ,get offered pot every 2 min.went to look at sorting out a trek into the Himalayas works out at 140 all in food lodgings transport and guide for three nights four days.went for dinner Nepalese thali consisted of hot pickle ,even hotter veg curry and even hotter chicken curry ,spicy spinach Dahl rice and chapatti £1.50 .then visited the monkey shrine amazing views up a 3k hike and five hundred steps .decided to get taxi back as it started to rain told me 200 .i told him he was taking the piss although I was thinking in Chinese yuan still instead of Nepalese ringet so we agreed on 100 which is about 65p .dropped me off in Thamel and it poured down the street became a river in minutes so I took refuse in a shop then all the power went , however managed to find my way in the maze of streets don't no how.think I need to shop for a coat.
