Supposed to move on to the next town however due to another festival this time a drum festival the whole town was booked solid not even a capsule hotel insight. This left me with one other choice, urban camp .now with Japan being one of the safest country's setting up for the night in the local park isn't unheard of and as Japanese politeness goes even the police wait till morning to wake you.now the only risk was with no tent a sudden storm could be a problem but I had no option .however due to requests from outside of Japan I promised to stay put for one more night ( which means three trains and two buses in one day and a 7 o'clock start ) .now with nothing to do and a full guesthouse a BBQ was created and many beers later I found myself with a good couple of Aussie lads a couple from Denmark and two Japanese and a German in the local karaoke club .several beers later and four songs in we stumble home at 2 in the morning no bill the Japanese guy paid everything which isn't uncommon in Japan. Wanting to watch the opening of the Olympics( which after two weeks surrounded by Japanese culture still drunk and with little sleep seamed slightly surreal )after five hours of the Olympics and the onset of a hangover i needed food and as this is a heritage site all the buildings look the same and none have signs and the day before while looking for food I stumbled into three sake breweries being easily offended three sake tastings insued which resulted in an pleasant afternoon buzz.however with a raging hangover and 36 degree heat another round of sake could push me over the edge.
