Flockhill is actually not only a holiday accommodation; it is a 14000 hectare working station, where shepp, cattle and deer are farmed. This morning we got a short demonstration of a sheep farmer with two of his sheep-dog.
He told us all about the different types of sheep they have and how the dogs control a flock of sheep, followed by a short explication of the sheering of the sheep. We also got the chance to see some sheep up close and especially the lambs were very cute!
After our morning tea to warm ourselves we went to the bus and headed for Christchurch where we would say goodbye to some groupmembers. We decided to have a farewell dinner in the evening with everyone together.
In the afternoon we set out on a short city walk, and I had a nice coffee at Starbucks. The farewell dinner at a Mac's Breweries restaurant was good fun (with good home brewed beers), and it was strange to say goodbye to the people that were leaving us.
Tomorrow we will leave at 8:00, so the evening sould not end too late!
