This was the longest round trip I have ever done for a game of golf. However the opportunity to play in Pinehurst could not be passed up. The drive was almost 3hours to Talamore golf course, which is operated by Randy's friend from high school. Before going out on the course, we went to the practice range. Not a sound could be heard when we set off for the beach at 8:00am this morning. (if we ignore the one random gunshot from the woods). We turned right at the church, went straight on at the Y, then turned left at the civil war trail. All this meant we arrived at the Taylor's weekend beach retreat in about an hour & a half. The daytime was spent in a most enjoyable, leisurely fashion. Popping out to sit in the garden in the sun was intermixed with television to cool off.
