Our final day began with discussions of what to do. Scotty was quite happy hosting. Don wanted to go out with a bang & I wanted to work on my tan.
All these things came to fruition. Before Scotty & I had finished our coffees Don had polished off two double Malibu's. Not to be outdone at 10:00 in the morning I got in the act with some Archers & Fanta. While Scotty opted for the usual Vodka tonic. This frantic pace could not be kept up for long. Sure enough Don & Scotty retired to their room after her fourth drink. I on the other hand, went into the Lake avec Carlsberg Chill & did exactly that. Feeling I may have had to much sun, around 13:00 I moved back to the terrace bar to make use of the wifi. Scotty joined me for lunch but our food took an hour to arrive. Despite the fact I had opted for a chicken avocado salad. Two avocado meals boxed into this day already.
Scotty was still staying well away from those steps so I headed down for some more splashing about in the Lake. I couldn't get too far in though as it was very rocky on the private beach area.
I went for a wander around the complex & found sure enough an easier way down to the beach with actually steps as opposed to rocks that no one had told us about. All we would have had to do is turn left out Scotty's room. Ah well too little too late.
Soon enough Don had awoken from her day nap & we met in the bar for a few drinks. Then we went back to the room at 18:30 to watch Trevor Noah's latest stand up routine on Netflix. This was very funny as it did take the mic out of British colonialism.
At dinner I got my butterfish which I had claimed at breakfast. We went pretty much straight to bed after settling our bill. With an early start tomorrow morning, no one wanted a late night.
I once agin had enjoyed my time at the Lake. Not as close to the water as when we stayed at Funky Chiclid in Cape Maclear, but a nicer room. What's holding Njaya Lodge back in my opinion is a bit of investment. A few changes here & there & it could be amazing. It already has friendly staff like Dixon (Mr Lovely Jubbly), good food/prices & a great location. For example my bathroom, did not have a door or a working light. It was also covered in damp. While next door the tiled shower was great.
Still, it's always sad leaving the Lake as if you stay in the right place, you are far away from the troubles of the world & meet some great people.
