I was up early & raring to set off but Scotty had some chores to do first. The good news was that this allowed Don time to negotiate some time off from work & join us.
We met her at a fancy supermarket that will be Scotty local when he moves into his new home. The Eskimo Room as they called it was almost freezing. It was delightful.
The drive was around 5hrs we took the M1 as it was the most reliable road. After Mzuzu the road had been washed away in parts of the M5. Don was a real trouper & did all the driving despite our gentlemanly offers to take turns.
When we arrived the lodge was quite difficult to find. The accommodation didn't go as planned so we had to go for a villa as we didn't want to share rooms.
My room had a nautical feel to it and looked out over the Lake from a high vantage point. Outside had a garden area where we had some pre dinner drinks.
Being back at the Lake I of course will only be eating fish for my main meals & started with the Chambo & chips which was very tasty. The bar/restaurant area is on the same level as our villa with a nice view out over the lake.
After dinner we took some drinks and went and sat on the beach. Only lit by moonlight this was an extremely relaxing moment & a nice way to end a long day.
