Another sunny day started off by a dip in the lake. Opting to skip breakfast as it was almost 12 I went for another fish dish for lunch. Accompanied by the thousands of flies that are around during the daytime. The meal was good though after a couple of beers accompanying it, I realised an afternoon nap was in order. The heat & the daytime beers are beginning to take its toll.
Today's new activity was a banana boat ride on the lake. Not feeling the best I was slightly dubious about taking on this enterprise. The real challenge of it was that to stay on 'effectively' you had to be in a kneeling position on the boat. This placed a lot of stress on the knees & was quite a gruelling undertaking. When on the boat though it was lots of fun zipping up & down the beach to many of the locals amusement. Scotty being the sensible lad that he is took his room key with him & sure enough lost it on the penultimate fall off the boat. I'm glad I tried it. It's safe to say I will never do it again as it was more exhausting than fun. The best part of the afternoon came straight after. We sat in the lake with some drinks as the sun shone down as we recovered from our excursions.
Before dinner this evening we went to the end of the beach to the Fat Monkey. Here we sat at the bar & watched Chelsea V Newcastle. We were joined by one Chelsea season ticket holder who was traveling in the area. Perhaps sitting on the beach watching the sunset would have been the better thing to do. The Chelsea fan certainly kept nipping out for photos. But as loyal fans we sat & watched our inevitable lacklustre collapse. More great fish for dinner followed, then we opted to head back. I'm starting to feel the affects of the heat & new climate, so I opted for a much needed early night.
